May 14th was Ron Winchester's last night behind the plate umpiring games for Walhalla Recreation after an incredible 44 years of service. Dedicating that much time to youth sports says a lot about Ron's love for our community and the generations of young athletes he has impacted along the way.
From Ron:
"I have been umpiring sports in Walhalla Recreation for 44 years and called my last two games tonight, 10U and 12U softball. I will still be a part of Walhalla Recreation, just not umpiring games anymore. It has been a honor being a part of Walhalla Recreation calling games and working with the kids of Walhalla and other towns near by."
Ron is now serving as a member of the Walhalla Recreation Advisory Board, continuing his long legacy of service, leadership, and commitment to our community through youth sports.
Thank you, Ron, for 44 years of dedication to Walhalla Recreation and the countless young athletes, coaches, and families whose lives you have touched along the way. Well done!
